Details

Course monitors ensure the safety of of our runners and walkers and cheer them on in their efforts. Monitors must be prepared to stand unless they bring their own seating to their assigned position, and the seat may not impede or cause a hazard to the participants in any way. They must be prepared to stay until the end of the event and until they have been released by the course manager or race director.

Location

Locations will vary along the course, but the views will be beautiful!

Water Station volunteer High Priority

You must be 5 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 20 more volunteers needed.

Details

Organized groups are given first priority to be assigned to manage a water station. The duties are to arrive on time at the assigned location, set up a table, procure cups and water from the course set-up team, and as needed, fill the cups with water for event participants. Water station volunteers must be prepared to stand unless they bring their own seating to their assigned position, and the seat may not impede or cause a hazard to the participants in any way. They must be prepared to stay until the end of the event and until they have been released by the course manager or race director.

Location

There are four water stations located on the course. They will be assigned to groups by the race director based on the special needs of the group.

Course set-up and strike High Priority

At least 4 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteers in this area must be able to arrive at a designated location by 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 7. Duties include erecting barricades, placing signage and cones, and installing caution tape at key points along the course. Other duties such as replenishing water and cup supplies at the water stations may also be assigned during the race. Upon conclusion of the event or at a time established by the lead coordinator, Marc Davidson, volunteers will be instructed as to how to dismantle and retrieve all equipment along the course.

Pre-race outreach volunteer High Priority

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteers available to help out prior to the race can assist with several tasks. They can distribute posters, help with volunteer training on May 4, and other duties as assigned by the race director. For more information, contact us at events@jfcslboc.org.
